Our club partnered with Oak Hill United Methodist Church for their Rise Against Hunger meal packaging experience on June 22. It was a fun event and a worthwhile cause.
Rise Against Hunger is growing a global movement to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives and responding to emergencies. Meal packaging volunteers produce millions of nutritious meals annually that are then distributed to partners in countries around the world. They may look like simple bags of rice and soy, but Rise Against Hunger meals represent the hopes and dreams of people worldwide.
Another core focus of Rise Against Hunger is responding to crises – both natural and man-made. From droughts to floods, in conflict zones and transitioning political situations, food is often the most immediate need.
