Welcome
Our club had a fun, quick and efficient service project for Rise Against Hunger on Saturday, March 28! In just a couple of hours our club members helped package 10,000 meals that will go to families in need of assistance. This was an awesome service project that we are so thrilled we could sponsor. It is a massive impact with an organization that has figured out all the logistics for us. That allowed us to have a fun, social time with excellent music jamming and kids excited to hit the gong (gong hit every time we hit another 1,000 meals packaged!) Thanks so much to our club members who took a few hours out of their Saturday for this amazing project, and also thank you to the Rotarians who joined us from the South Austin club as well!Rise Against Hunger is a favorite service project of our club. Rise Against Hunger is growing a global movement to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives and responding to emergencies. Meal packaging volunteers produce millions of nutritious meals annually that are then distributed to partners in countries around the world. They may look like simple bags of rice and soy, but Rise Against Hunger meals represent the hopes and dreams of people worldwide.
Another core focus of Rise Against Hunger is responding to crises – both natural and man-made. From droughts to floods, in conflict zones and transitioning political situations, food is often the most immediate need.
